Langri Tangpa Buddhist Centre
We are a teaching and meditation centre in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, founded in 1982, and run entirely by volunteers. The centre provides a friendly and supportive environment for learning and putting into practice the teachings of the Buddha, both online and in-person. There is no need to be a Buddhist to benefit from the courses on offer, just an interest in making your life both happy and meaningful. We hold regular classes in meditation, Buddhism, and emotional balance, and encourage questioning and open dialogue. All courses are by donation.
Our Lineage
Langri Tangpa Centre is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), an organisation of over 140 centres throughout the world, founded by Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche. We seek to reflect their teachings throughout our program, and to support our principal inspiration, HH the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.
Following the inspirational example of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Langri Tangpa Buddhist Centre is dedicated to serving others with kindness and wisdom, and to educating people in ways to reduce suffering and promote the development of a more kind, compassionate and peaceful human family.
Not-for-Profit
Langri Tangpa Centre has no paid staff – we are run entirely by volunteers. We rely entirely on the support of members, friends, benefactors and bequests. Classes are offered on a donation basis, and these weekly donations and membership fees help to keep the centre flourishing.
